Castillo Sohail

The doors are all Jim sized in the castle!

The tower stairs are steep!

Lanaia and I went to Fuengirola to an old castle - Castillo Sohail. It was constructed in in the first century AD and modified throughout the years including during the Anglo-Spanish wars in the 1450-1800 eras. It was fun to see how the soldiers would have lived in the fortification. I know one thing, they must have been small people! The stairways up to the towers were extremely tight for my oversized self. The castle is built on a 38 meter tall hill, with a river estuary beside it for fresh water. The cannon deck and towers command the area in Fuengirola Bay.
