On Christmas day we were given a half day off work. There isn't much to do on a half day off so we decided to run the Three Peaks Challenge. We asked the security chief to run us over to one of the field locations nearby and hiked 5 km back to camp, climbing three dunes on the way. It is fairly intense, taking about 2 hours total. The first dune is lower, maybe 300 vertical feet, but the last two are as tall as our usual climbing dune by the camp, close to 600 feet. We will be running it again on New Year's Day.
The catering staff did an ourstanding job on decorating and preparing for the Christmas meal. They served roast turkey, beef, lamb, ham, seafood and all the usual trimmings.
Merry Christmas!
