Alte

Matt and I spent an afternoon with friends who live about 40 minutes north of us near a couple small towns; Messines and Alte. It was a beautiful afternoon so we went for a stroll around Alte which is a very quaint little village and is very busy in the summer with bus tours.

It is so interesting to see these old buildings refurbished, this one is currently being used as a bank and has a walk up bank machine in the front, a slight contradiction in eras.
A river running through the center of town, there is a lot more water than usual with all the rain we had this winter. There is a dammed pool just above the falls where the locals go to swim in the summer.

This is the mobile fish truck that sells fresh fish to the locals in the later afternoon.

One of the homes in Alte (for sale), Matt will have to duck to get through the door.
This is a statue of a founder of Alte who made significant contributions to the progress of the town during his time.
