Loule Market

This gentleman is selling his oranges along the N125 on the way to Loule shopping. You can buy a 5kg bag for 1.50-2 euro.
This is the municipal market in Loule which is open in the morning till 1pm and then closes for the day. You can purchase everything from vegies, fruit, baked goods, meat, fish, souveniers and pottery. I spent the day shopping and had lunch in a little street cafe and then off to hit a couple more shoe stores. Another fun day out and about.

Back to the Vilamoura marina at sunset, the sky is so pretty.

Afternoon in Quarteira

This is the promenade in Quarteira along the beach front. I came down for lunch after taking in the Gypsy market. I didn't take any pictures of shopping, do not want any incriminating evidence.

Lunch on the beach, hake fillets with shrimp sauce and a shandy, yummy! Nice and sunny, look no scarf! This is a wonderful way to pass the afternoon. I love it!

Golf Society

The society golfed at Vila Sol Golf Course, there was 28 of us out playing. It turned out to another beautiful sunny day, we have had really good fortune with the weather on Saturday's.
We play a stableford competition for sweeps and usually have a closest to the pin and long drive hole as well. I have been fortunate enough to win a couple KP's and a longest drive and take home a bottle of wine or rum as the prize.

This is one of many Palm trees on the golf course and they have huge clusters of what looks like berries hanging abundantly from the branches (the orange clusters). It is pretty neat having the Palm trees on the course. The tough trees to get around are the Pine trees which look more like umbrellas than christmas trees and they are tough to get under or over if a shot gets a little astray.
After golf the group always gathers at Parky's bar for happy hour (pint of beer for 1 euro) and the prize presentation. This particular night we moved our group next door to the Cactus bar which has an all night happy hour. The people we have gotten to know are quite musically inclined and it was not long before the guitar came out of the boot of the car and a sing song was started. When we got to the bar we were the only patrons and by the end, the bar was full and everyone was singing along. They are truly a fun group!!!

Talking with Matt phoning from Algeria. We wished he was here with us and I know he did too!
I am sitting beside the talented guys, Neil is from Scotland and can sing beautifully and the on guitar is Sean from Ireland who has a wonderful talent for starting a great sing along. It was a late one.
